Surveys & builder

Build the survey you need, not the one a template allows

Start from a scored survey type with the score question already set up, or go Freestyle and design every scale yourself. Group your questions, add logic and shuffling, give the survey page your own look, and import whole question sets from a spreadsheet.

Surveys & builder

  1. Five survey types, each scored the right way

Scored types come with their score question in place, on the right scale. You can reword it — the scale stays fixed so scores stay comparable.

    • Net Promoter Score, 0–10: % promoters minus % detractors
    • Customer Satisfaction, 1–5: the share of 4s and 5s
    • Customer Effort, 1–7: the average ease rating
    • General Feedback, 1–5: the average rating
    • Freestyle: no fixed score question — every scale is yours
  2. Custom scales with your labels and your values

Design every point of a scale: 2 to 11 points, each with its own label, a value from 0 to 100 and an optional picture. Agree can be worth 4 in one survey and 5 in another, and you choose the order respondents see.

    • Start from agreement, satisfaction faces, yes / no or star templates
    • Custom scales feed question group scores and favourability like any other scale
    • Freestyle surveys are built entirely from your own scales
  3. Pictures as answers

Any answer option can carry a picture — or be a picture alone. Pick from built-in faces, thumbs, stars, hearts, ticks and crosses, or upload your own PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP image of up to 1 MB. On a phone, picture-only answers show as a grid of full-size pictures.

  4. Question groups, order and the small things that save time

Group questions by theme — each group gets its own score in your results. Drag questions and groups into the order you want.

    • Mark questions required or optional
    • Duplicate a question in one click
    • Reuse the answer options of another question
    • Single choice, multiple choice, free text, scales and custom scales
  5. Logic: the right questions for each person

Show a question or a whole group only when earlier answers call for it, and end the survey early when they do — ask detractors what went wrong and promoters what they value most. Rules only look back at earlier questions, so a survey can never loop.

    • Combine up to 10 conditions — all of them, or any one
    • Test a range on a scale, the answers someone picked, or whether a question was answered
    • Every respondent still answers the score question
    • Questions the logic skipped show as “Not shown” in each response
  6. Shuffle to avoid order bias

Shuffle a question’s answer options, the questions inside a group, or the order of the groups — each respondent gets an order of their own. Keep the last option, such as “None of these”, in its place.

    • The score question always keeps its place
  7. Import questions from a spreadsheet

Download the Excel or CSV template, fill in one row per question, and upload it. Every row is checked with the same rules as the builder, and problems are reported by row and column. Imported questions are added to your draft for review — nothing is saved until you say so.

  8. Choose how respondents move through it

Show every question on one page, one group per page, or one question at a time — the focused option that works best on a phone. You can also hide group names, so respondents see only the questions. Both can be changed at any time, even after publishing.

  9. Your look on the survey page

Give each survey its own look: your logo, a colour for buttons and highlights, a white, softly tinted or custom background, your text colour, and square, rounded or pill-shaped corners — with a live preview as you go. You can change it while the survey is live.

    • Colours that would be hard to read are flagged and can’t be saved
    • Button text is picked for you, so it always stands out
    • While a survey loads, the page stays neutral — it never flashes bebonium’s colours before yours
  10. A slow-down check for rushed answers

Ask people to take a moment when they answer too fast. You choose the pace — for example, three questions within ten seconds — and what happens then: a short pause with a countdown, or a message only. It stays off until you turn it on.

    • Write your own message of up to 160 characters, or use bebonium’s in each respondent’s language
    • Show it at most 1 to 5 times per person
    • Preview exactly what respondents will see before you save
